Hilde Hoogwaerts is a Dutch quilter. She and her husband have lived in many places around the world and after 30 years in post after post, they finally returned home. It was in the United States, in Georgia, that she discovered and learned about patchwork. He accompanied her everywhere on her travels, as far as Africa and Ghana, where she found her first wax fabrics on a local market, lacking fabric because she was newly installed. Hilde fell in love with the richness of colors and patterns and has since only worked with these even once back home! And that’s when she actually discovered that the most beautiful ones were Dutch and produced a few kilometers from her home!
This book, bursting with energy and color, is totally dedicated to them and the 14 projects that are explained highlight the superb prints. Creative, contemporary and traditional at the same time, it is suitable for all levels of expertise and creativity. All models are explained in inches and centimeters, accompanied by real-size templates and richly illustrated with magnificent photos.
