After her first book Quilts des Colonies published in 2017 Margaret returns with a new more personal book in which to start, she reveals to us with great precision her working technique. Choice of fabrics according to the planned work, importance of prints, contrasts, sizes of patterns, backgrounds used, so that each of them is the best option to highlight the project it is considering. She reveals her favorite quilts, most of them inspired by old works that she loves to find in museums and on the net but rarely reproduced identically! She adapts a pattern applied here, a border there, blocks that she redraws, in short, she draws her material from the richness of the textile heritage to compose definitively original quilts. Appliques medallions and pieces are revisited with elegance and harmony and illuminate every place where they are displayed. A rich book of 16 fully explained quilts completed by a technical notebook, accompanied by all the life-size templates and nicely photographed in a very beautiful French residence, a tribute to France to which she has boundless love!
